Pay Rate - $29.55/hr 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm Job Description Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and install new electrical equipment. Complies with the Compliance Program, related policies and procedures and the Code of Business Practices; reports instances of perceived and actual non-compliance to Team Leader or through other reporting mechanisms. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES (The essential responsibilities and accountabilities of this position): Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on normal and emergency electrical power distribution equipment, fire alarm systems, and nurse call systems. Works with blueprints, schematics, diagrams, handbooks, and equipment manufacturers manuals to diagnose system or equipment failures and identify proper parts for replacement or repair. Assists in training of other electricians on preventive maintenance procedures, repair and operation of new equipment. Assist Lead Electrician in locating information about and enrollment in continuing education classes. Provide technical input and recommendations regarding the repair and replacement of existing equipment and new equipment purchases. Assists in the installation of new equipment, be proficient in the operation of the fire alarm system, and demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the operation and repair of the nurse call system. Completes required paperwork accurately thoroughly and promptly. Documents all activities and work orders on TMA computer networking system. Performs all other duties and tasks assigned. INITIATIVE Three decisions made / duties performed without review/approval by a supervisor or other reviewer. 1. Opening and closing TMA work orders on computer networking system. 2. Re-setting of tripped breakers 3. Shut downs on non-essential equipment. Three decisions on which consultation with, or approval from, a supervisor would be sought. 1. Ordering of major parts 2. Shut downs on essential equipment 3. Shutting down fire zones on computer networking system What guidelines, regulations, procedures, manuals, etc. available to guide decision-making and actions in this position? Department policy and procedural manual, NFPA, NEC, ASHARE, and the National Building Code. REQUIRED EDUCATION Associates degree in a related field required, bachelors degree preferred. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 2 to 4 years technical school training or 7 years? experience in the electrical field required. Experience with electrical testing equipment. Knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems required. PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS: - Unrestricted, Class II Electrical License preferred. | |
