Description

Position Summary-
The School Psychologist provides psychological services and support to students, families, teachers, and school staff to promote students? academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive evaluations, identifying student needs, developing appropriate interventions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support positive educational outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities-
Conduct psychological, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments to identify student strengths and areas of need.
Participate in evaluations and eligibility determinations for special education and related services.
Develop and implement evidence-based interventions and behavioral support strategies.
Provide individual and/or group counseling and other appropriate psychological services.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, special education staff, counselors, parents, and other professionals regarding student needs.
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Provide consultation and recommendations to educators regarding classroom management, student behavior, learning strategies, and accommodations.
Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on assessment data and outcomes.
Support students experiencing academic, behavioral, social, or emotional challenges.
Assist with crisis intervention and provide appropriate support during behavioral or emotional emergencies.
Communicate assessment results and recommendations clearly and professionally to families and school personnel.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely documentation in accordance with school policies and applicable regulations.
Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local education requirements related to special education and student services.
Participate in professional development and maintain current knowledge of best practices in school psychology.

Qualifications-
Master?s or specialist-level degree in School Psychology, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist or eligibility to obtain certification.
Experience conducting psychoeducational and behavioral assessments preferred.
Knowledge of special education processes, IEPs, and applicable educational regulations.
Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, learning, behavior, and social-emotional needs.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information professionally.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in a K?12 educational setting.
Experience with special education evaluations and IEP development.
Experience providing behavioral interventions, counseling, or crisis support.
Experience collaborating with parents, teachers, administrators, and community providers.
