Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a mechanically skilled Pipe Fabrication / Machine Operator to support pipe fabrication, cutting, threading, assembling, and material handling operations. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced shop and yard environment.

Due to the urgent hiring need, the manager may review resumes and extend an offer without conducting an interview. Candidates should be prepared to move quickly through the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities
Move loose and bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard.
Assemble pipe orders, including individual sticks and bundles.
Maintain organized work areas and supplies.
Safely fabricate, cut, assemble, stack, and prepare pipe for shipment.
Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and company procedures.
Set up, operate, and maintain machinery used for pipe fabrication.
Accurately measure, record, and calculate pipe lengths and quantities.
Measure and cut pipe using band saws and/or torches.
Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines.
Perform quality checks using gauges and measuring tools.
Inspect and maintain forklift equipment.
Sort and shift pipe ranging from ½" to 10" in diameter.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
6?8 months of recent machinery or mechanical experience.
Experience with equipment such as:
Band saws
Pipe threaders
Automatic welding machines
Roll groove machines
Plasma cutting equipment
Pneumatic banders
Landis machines
Ability to accurately read and understand a tape measure.
Experience using gauges for quality inspections.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machinery.
Basic computer skills, particularly for operating automated machinery.
Strong math skills for calculating measurements and product quantities.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Preferred Experience
6?8 months of fire sprinkler pipe fabrication experience.
Previous experience with pipe cutting, threading, grooving, welding, or fabrication.
