NDT Technician 2 ? Aircraft Components Pay Rate: $27.90?$42.30/hour Shift: 1st Shift ? Monday?Thursday, 5:00 AM?3:30 PM (4x10s) Certification: NDT hours and applicable certifications REQUIRED Position Summary The NDT Technician 2 performs non-destructive testing (NDT) on a variety of sheet metal aircraft components. The technician will process parts, perform inspections, interpret results, document findings, and ensure inspections comply with company and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities Perform NDT inspections on aircraft components using established procedures and technique sheets. Perform Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Radiographic/Digital X-Ray Inspection. Generate x-ray film for parts with simple and complex geometries. Interpret inspection results and accurately document findings. Create and revise NDT technique sheets as required. Support NDT Technician 1 personnel with inspections. Identify faulty processes and communicate issues to the appropriate technician or supervisor. Evaluate NDT methods and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and productivity. Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection equipment. Accurately document inspection quantities and information in manufacturing planning and electronic timekeeping systems. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, schedules, and written instructions. Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures. Demonstrate basic NDT operations to other employees when needed. Required Qualifications NDT hours and certifications are REQUIRED. Certification in: FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) Radiographic Inspection Digital X-Ray Inspection Ability to read and understand engineering blueprints, manufacturing plans, and sketches. Basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Knowledge of shop math and precision measurement tools. Ability to interpret and document NDT findings accurately. General understanding of aerospace manufacturing and NDT processes. Basic knowledge of welding and forming processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety/quality. | |
