Position Summary The Assembler 2 performs disassembly, assembly, rework, and basic testing of various electrical and electronic equipment. This position performs complex mechanical and electromechanical assembly operations while following established work instructions, specifications, drawings, safety requirements, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Perform electrical and electronic assembly, disassembly, rework, and basic testing. Solder using electric soldering equipment to IPC-A-610B Class 3 standards. Cut, prepare, and pre-tin wires. Prepare batteries and apply conformal coating, markings, and adhesive bonding. Perform complex mechanical and electromechanical assembly operations. Follow written and verbal instructions, specifications, drawings, and procedures. Inspect personal work and, when assigned, inspect other associates' work for accuracy and quality. Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and applicable inspection aids. Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with 6S standards. Maintain acceptable attendance, safety, and quality records. Assist other departments with tasks, training, and development as needed. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Technician or Supervisor. Qualifications Education High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in an electronics or manufacturing environment, OR Completion of OJT training on at least 5 products. Required Skills Ability to read and understand technical instructions, manufacturing documents, safety procedures, and company policies in English. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electric soldering equipment. Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with small components. Ability to perform complex mechanical/electromechanical assembly. Experience with soldering, brazing, and/or simple welding tasks. Ability to identify and resolve atypical or infrequent problems using established procedures and precedents. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and other shifts as required. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Ability to comply with drug-free workplace requirements and applicable screening procedures. Physical Requirements Approximately 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking within indoor company facilities. Frequent use of both hands for grasping, manipulation, and fine-finger movements. Ability to maintain head and neck positions while looking up/down and side-to-side. Ability to perform light lifting from floors, tables, and shelves. Ability to push and pull loaded and unloaded carts or mobile tables. Minimal exposure to heavy lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, kneeling, overhead reaching, excessive noise, hazardous chemicals/equipment, and uneven walking surfaces.
