Job Summary We are seeking a Braider Operator to operate and monitor industrial braiding equipment used to manufacture high-quality hose and aerospace components. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with manufacturing equipment. Previous braiding experience is preferred, but production or manufacturing experience is a plus?not required. Training may be provided for qualified entry-level candidates. Responsibilities Operate TMW-3DK, TMW-4DK, NEB, OMA, TMW 24/36, and other applicable braiding equipment. Set up machines according to manufacturing specifications, including braid ring height, tube guides, gears, carriers, and bobbins. Pull and verify tooling and materials needed for production. Inspect tooling and materials before use and document material usage. Select the appropriate mandrel size and guide core tubes through the machine. Monitor equipment and product quality throughout the manufacturing process. Measure and record outside diameter (OD) and pitch using applicable measuring instruments. Perform quality inspections and pull tests on aerospace hose. Identify, mark, and document defects and new preforms according to established procedures. Inspect and rebuild machine carriers as needed. Replace oil barrels and perform routine equipment-related tasks. Properly stage completed products for the next stage of production. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S practices. Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures. Report equipment or production issues to the appropriate lead or supervisor. Train entry-level Braider Operators as experience and qualifications allow. Work collaboratively with team members on Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Previous production or manufacturing experience preferred, but not required. Previous braiding, hose manufacturing, aerospace, or machine operation experience is a plus. Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills. Basic knowledge of hand tools. Ability to read work orders and manufacturing specifications. Basic computer skills. Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and Pi tape. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Good math, reading, writing, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to remain alert and focused while monitoring machinery and product quality. Ability to recognize changes in machine sounds and identify potential equipment issues.
