Position Overview

The IT Asset Management & Logistics Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of an IT stockroom and hardware logistics environment. This role manages the receipt, organization, tracking, distribution, shipment, recovery, and disposition of IT equipment while maintaining accurate inventory and asset records throughout the equipment lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on logistics environment. This position requires the ability to safely handle and move IT equipment, boxes, packages, pallets, and larger shipments as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Maintain the IT stockroom, ensuring equipment is properly organized, securely stored, and accurately accounted for.
Receive incoming IT hardware, equipment, and shipments and verify items against packing slips and supporting documentation.
Process IT hardware requests and prepare equipment for deployment, distribution, or shipment.
Package, label, and ship IT equipment to end users, vendors, company locations, repair facilities, and disposition centers as required.
Maintain accurate asset and inventory records within applicable asset management, inventory, or IT systems.
Update asset status, location, assignment, and other relevant inventory information as equipment moves through its lifecycle.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment, organization, and optimization.
Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
Prepare and package equipment for shipment while ensuring items are properly protected and labeled.
Break down incoming pallets and larger equipment shipments and properly organize received materials.
Support equipment returns, recoveries, repairs, redeployments, and disposition activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and efficient stockroom environment.
Follow established procedures for asset handling, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and equipment security.
Coordinate with IT support teams, Asset Management, vendors, and end users to fulfill hardware requests and resolve inventory-related issues.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Technical certification and/or Associate Degree may be required or preferred depending on business needs.
Generally, 1?2 years of experience in IT asset management, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, shipping/receiving, or a related field.
Experience working with inventory, asset management, or tracking systems preferred.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with IT, logistics, vendors, and other business teams.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn applicable asset management and inventory systems.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, and move IT equipment, boxes, packages, and other materials.
Ability to assist with pallets and larger equipment shipments when required.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical stockroom activities for extended periods.
Ability to safely handle equipment and materials in accordance with established workplace safety procedures.

This position primarily operates in an IT stockroom and logistics environment and involves hands-on handling of hardware and equipment. The technician must maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area while adhering to applicable safety and asset-handling procedures.
