A manufacturing company with a metal shop environment located in Montebello is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team on 2nd shift. Training will take place on the 1st shift. Training - 6am - 2:30pm Shift - 2:30pm - 11pm Monday - Friday Job Summary The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general repairs, preventive maintenance, and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment, in addition to routine janitorial duties. This role requires a hands-on individual comfortable handling a wide range of tasks ? from basic handyman repairs to daily cleaning responsibilities ? to help keep the facility safe, functional, and presentable. Responsibilities Perform general repairs and maintenance on the building, fixtures, doors, plumbing, electrical (non-licensed scope), and other facility systems. Complete minor carpentry, painting, patching, and general handyman-type repairs as needed. Inspect and maintain lighting, and other building systems; coordinate with maintenance team to report repairs beyond in-house scope. Perform preventive maintenance on facility equipment and document completed work. Clean and maintain shop floors, restrooms, break areas, and offices, including sweeping, mopping, and trash/recycling removal. Dispose of industrial waste (metal shavings, swarf, oils, coolant) safely and in accordance with company procedures. Perform general exterior upkeep, including grounds maintenance, hedge trimming, and parking lot cleanliness. Respond to maintenance requests and repair issues in a timely manner. Use ladders, hand tools, and power tools safely to complete assigned repairs and upkeep tasks. Maintain an inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies; notify supervisor when restocking is needed. Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines while performing maintenance and cleaning duties. Skills & Abilities Basic knowledge of general repair work, including light electrical, and plumbing. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine facility issues independently. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across a variety of daily tasks. Attention to detail, dependability, and consistent attendance. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and established safety procedures. Ability to work cooperatively with employees, supervisors, and other departments in an active machine-shop environment. | |
