Position Summary We are seeking a dependable Winder Operator to operate wire-winding equipment and produce wire bobbins according to manufacturing specifications. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Production experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate bobbin winding machines according to manufacturing specifications and detailed work instructions. String wire through bobbin winders and adjust counters to the required footage. Fill oil containers as needed to maintain equipment operation. Record production information in the WW2 system for labeling purposes. Place completed bobbins on the wire table and produce bobbins according to inventory requirements. Monitor equipment to keep bobbin machines operating continuously and efficiently. Pull required materials from the warehouse. Inspect products and monitor equipment for unusual conditions or quality issues. Report production problems or equipment concerns to the Value Stream Team Lead. Work with Maintenance to help resolve equipment-related issues. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S/Lean Manufacturing practices. Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures. Minimize product and component waste through efficient equipment operation. Participate in team-based improvement initiatives and other assigned duties. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and follow detailed instructions. Basic computer skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Preferred Previous manufacturing or production experience. Experience using basic hand tools. Troubleshooting experience. Ability to recognize changes in machine sounds and identify potential equipment issues. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Sound decision-making skills. Previous production experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided and may last approximately 1?8 weeks, with training potentially extended to 10 weeks based on individual needs. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, twist, turn, reach, squat, kneel, push, pull, and lift. Lift and carry materials weighing up to approximately 50 lbs. Reach below the knee and occasionally above shoulder level. Perform repetitive movements and work with a high degree of manual dexterity. Maintain continuous visual and auditory attention to equipment and product quality. Working Environment Manufacturing environment with high noise levels from machinery and equipment. Exposure to physical hazards associated with operating machinery and moving reels. Required use of appropriate safety equipment, including steel-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection. Must be comfortable working around operating machinery and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings. Flexibility to work overtime and respond to short-notice overtime requirements is required. Additional Requirements Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening. Reports directly to the Value Stream Team Lead. Works closely with the Maintenance team to address equipment issues. Must be willing and able to work mandatory overtime as required.
