Report unidentified inventory, damaged products, mixed items, incorrect locations, missing labels, or other inventory discrepancies to the supervisor or inventory count lead. Assist with locating inventory that cannot be immediately identified or reconciled. Maintain inventory in its designated location after counting unless instructed otherwise. Use pallet jacks, carts, ladders, and other approved material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Follow all company safety requirements, including required PPE and safe lifting/material-handling practices. Support inventory preparation activities before the physical count and cleanup/reorganization activities after completion. Perform other warehouse and physical-inventory-related activities as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Previous warehouse, inventory, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or physical inventory experience preferred. Ability to accurately count and record quantities. Ability to remain focused while performing repetitive counting activities. Must be dependable, punctual, and available for the scheduled physical inventory period. Experience using pallet jacks or other warehouse equipment is preferred. Forklift operation only if properly trained and authorized by the company. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move boxes or materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive movements during inventory counting. Ability to safely move and organize cartons and materials. Ability to work around warehouse racks, pallets, forklifts, and material-handling equipment. Ability to work overtime or extended hours during physical inventory when required. Key Performance Expectations The temporary team member will be expected to maintain count accuracy, complete all tags and documentation correctly, follow the established count process, keep counted and uncounted inventory clearly separated, report discrepancies rather than making assumptions, maintain safe and organized work areas, and complete assigned inventory areas within the required timeframe. Most important expectation: Accuracy takes priority over speed. If an item, quantity, location, or unit of measure is unclear, the employee should stop and request assistance rather than estimate the count. | |
