Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CNC / NC Programmer to provide programming support for machining parts and tooling on numerically controlled machines. This position will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs, developing machining strategies, and supporting production teams during first-article runs and process stabilization. Two Non-Negotiable Requirements Hands-on experience with Esprit CAM programming software CNC mill programming experience Candidates must have experience with both requirements to be considered. Essential Responsibilities Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for mills and lathes using Esprit CAM software. Develop part setups, fixturing, machining strategies, order of operations, tool selection, and appropriate speeds, feeds, and process parameters for new products. Prepare setup sheets and tool lists identifying reference points and cutting-path directions. Review existing part programs and make improvements to increase efficiency and eliminate omissions or errors. Support CNC operators during first-article runs and process stabilization. Analyze proposed changes to methods and materials and contribute to continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Research and maintain technical knowledge through workshops, training, and technical publications. Perform additional related and cross-functional responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Education & Experience Completion of a related trade school program, Associate degree, or equivalent technical training in NC/CNC programming. Previous technical or production experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Approximately 2+ years of NC Programmer experience preferred. Esprit CAM programming experience required. CNC mill programming experience required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of CNC/NC programming principles, concepts, and techniques. Proficiency with Esprit CAM; experience with Mastercam is also beneficial. Knowledge of CNC tooling, speeds and feeds, materials, and machining sequences. Understanding of machine shop operations; aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred. Ability to develop and optimize toolpaths and machining processes. Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings and manuals. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions. Ability to work independently with general direction, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks. Ability to support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work. Proficiency with standard business software and specialized manufacturing/design applications. Ideal Candidate | |
