Description

Position Overview
We are seeking a Fabrication Associate to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment specializing in the fabrication and preparation of fire suppression and sprinkler system components.
Important: This is a fabrication/machine operation position, not a welding position. Welding experience is not required.

Fabrication Associates will operate machinery, measure and cut pipe, assist with assembly and bundling, move materials, and support various processes throughout the fabrication shop. Employees will be cross-trained on multiple areas of the shop and should be flexible and willing to learn.

Candidates currently enrolled in welding school or who have recently graduated may be considered, provided they have the required industrial experience and are interested in learning the fabrication process.

Key Responsibilities
Follow established standard operating procedures for pipe fabrication.
Set up and operate fabrication machinery according to established procedures.
Measure pipe accurately using a tape measure.
Measure and cut pipe using band saws and/or torches.
Operate pipe grooving, threading, beveling, and related machinery.
Assist with machine operation, assembly, bundling, die checking, and other fabrication activities.
Move loose and bundled pipe throughout the facility and pipe yard.
Assemble pipe orders in single sticks or bundles.
Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized manner.
Perform basic quality checks on fabricated materials.
Follow all required safety procedures when cutting, fabricating, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe.
Inspect and maintain forklift equipment in safe, functional condition.
Work effectively as part of a team and assist in various areas of the shop as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

At least 6 months of recent industrial/manufacturing experience.
Machine operation experience, preferably with saws or similar equipment.
Basic fabrication experience or familiarity with fabrication tools and processes.
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
Basic math skills and ability to calculate quantities.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working with pipe and sheet metal throughout the workday.
Strong hands-on manufacturing experience.
Reliable attendance and dependable work history.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong willingness to learn and cross-train in different areas of the shop.
Ability to follow safety procedures and standard operating procedures.

Preferred:

Experience operating a universal welder.
Experience operating a pipe grooving machine.
Experience with threading and beveling equipment.
Previous fabrication, pipe, sheet metal, or industrial assembly experience.
Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a welding/fabrication program.
Work Environment
Fast-paced manufacturing/fabrication shop.
Regular handling of pipe and sheet metal.
Hands-on work involving machinery, assembly, cutting, and material movement.
Ability to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays.
Saturday overtime, when required, is expected to be a minimum of approximately 6 hours.
