Position Summary The Assembly & Test Technician accurately and efficiently assembles and tests products to meet customer quality standards and on-time delivery schedules. This position performs routine assembly, testing, subassembly, lockwiring, and finishing tasks while working under direct supervisory guidance. The technician will also contribute to Lean manufacturing initiatives focused on improving productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities Perform basic assembly and testing functions in a manufacturing environment. Use hand and power tools, mechanical and electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection/measurement equipment. Perform lockwiring, first-stage subassembly, and final detailing on routine assignments. Record test results accurately using data forms, basic electrical equipment, and flow meters. Read and interpret: Blueprints Engineering orders Assembly routes Test specifications Service bulletins Customer requirements Quality directives Assemble and inspect products to ensure they meet required specifications. Perform assembly and testing according to customer and/or industry standards. Perform touch-up or full-surface painting of parts using materials such as paint, lacquer, and glaze. Mix finishing materials and clean parts as required. Participate in Lean initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and cost efficiency. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a Foreign Object Damage (FOD)-free work area. Ensure equipment is properly calibrated according to the established calibration schedule. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision. Required Skills & Qualifications Basic mechanical skills and hands-on manufacturing experience. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation. Ability to accurately perform assembly and testing procedures. Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical test equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to follow written instructions, specifications, and established procedures. Commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean, organized work area. Preferred Experience Experience with mechanical or electronic assembly. Experience using test equipment and measurement tools. Experience with painting or industrial finishing. Experience working in an aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environment. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles. Experience working with FOD prevention procedures. | |
