Location: Norfolk, VA
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Training Start Date: October 5, 2026
Training Schedule: Monday?Friday, 9:00 AM?5:00 PM
Interviews are anticipated for September 29?30, 2026, with training beginning October 5, 2026.

This position works in a high-volume inbound call center and customer service environment. Account Representatives assist customers with utility accounts, billing and collection inquiries, high-bill concerns, starting and discontinuing services, payment arrangements, and other account-related needs.

Key Responsibilities
Provide professional customer service by telephone, in person, and through online inquiries.
Establish, maintain, update, and terminate customer utility accounts.
Assist customers with billing, consumption, collections, high-bill concerns, and service questions.
Process payments and cash transactions accurately.
Calculate fees, adjustments, and daily rates.
Enter and maintain information in multiple billing systems.
Complete payment extension and payment-plan requests.
Prepare and electronically submit work orders.
Maintain customer records, reports, correspondence, logs, and other documentation.
Research account information and analyze data.
Communicate effectively with internal departments, field personnel, and customers.
Follow established policies, procedures, attendance requirements, and call-center expectations.
Meet established call-center performance metrics.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of inbound call-center customer service experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to perform calculations accurately and efficiently.
Comfortable working with multiple computer systems and entering data.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal ongoing supervision.
Ability to work successfully in a structured, high-volume customer service environment.
Must successfully complete the required initial training period.
