position Overview We are seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Pipe Fabricator to support pipe handling, fabrication, cutting, threading, measuring, and shipping operations. The ideal candidate will have recent experience operating industrial machinery and a strong mechanical background. Candidates with experience in automotive repair, diesel mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive manufacturing, farm equipment, or similar mechanical environments are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Move loose and bundled pipe throughout the shop and yard. Assemble pipe orders, including individual pieces and bundles. Maintain an organized and safe work area and supplies. Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA requirements and company procedures. Set up, operate, and maintain machinery used for pipe fabrication. Measure, record, and calculate random pipe lengths accurately. Measure and cut pipe using band saws and/or torches. Thread and bevel pipe using Landis machines. Operate equipment such as roll groovers, plasma cutters, automatic welding machines, and pneumatic banders. Sort and shift pipe ranging from ½" to 10". Perform quality checks using tape measures and gauges. Inspect and perform basic maintenance on forklift equipment. Follow all safety procedures related to fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Required Qualifications 6?8 months of recent machinery or mechanical experience. Experience with machinery such as: Band saws Automatic welding machines Pipe threaders Roll groove machines Plasma cutting equipment Pneumatic banders 3?6 months of forklift experience. Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure. Experience using gauges for quality inspections. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving product quantities and measurements. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills, particularly when working with automated machinery. Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications 6?8 months of fire sprinkler pipe fabrication experience. Experience cutting, threading, beveling, or fabricating pipe. Experience working in a pipe yard, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment. Mechanical experience in: Auto mechanics Diesel mechanics Machinery maintenance Automotive production lines Farm equipment Heavy equipment Physical & Environmental Requirements Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment that can become very hot. Ability to safely handle and move pipe and materials throughout the shop and yard. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift. Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and powered equipment. | |
