DESCRIPTION:

Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved Practical Nursing Program. IV Certification is not required for this LPN position.

Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Graduate of a generic practical nursing program after February 28, 1999 or successful completion of an IV Therapy Administration course approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Stand and walk most of the time on duty. Meet unit specific physical demands. Significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance. May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally. Equipment Used: Unit specific.

Certifications: Current LPN licensure with the Missouri State Board of Nursing or current LPN Missouri temporary work permit. Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.

Job Summary: Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups within the scope of practical nursing preparation under the direct supervision of an RN. The LPN?s practice must be consistent with the established guidelines of practice, the goals of Client , the Philosophy of the Sisters of Client, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, the code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Performs related duties as assigned.
