Safety Manager Education: Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience: EHS: 3 years (Required) Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: 3 years (Required) What you'll do: Perform health and safety services including industrial hygiene surveys involving, but not limited to, respiratory protection (to include quantitative fit testing and training); laboratory chemical hygiene; environmental and exposure monitoring such as stormwater, groundwater, soil, hazardous/universal waste disposal and/or particle dust, noise; LOTO; fall protection; and hazard communication such as Safety Data Sheet maintenance. Evaluate manufacturing and laboratory work environments, develops EHS written policies, procedures, and guidelines, performs Job Safety Analyses (JSA)/Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) to identify, control, eliminate and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical and biological agents. Lead the EHS programs to ensure compliance with the latest regulations, best practices, and company standards. Develops and promotes a safety training curriculum; plans and conducts safety education activities. Evaluate industrial hygiene and safety program effectiveness and the achievement of safety objectives. Investigate accidents and/or incidents of an EHS nature and ascertains cause and need for corrective action. Develops and implements measures and strategies to prevent their recurrence. Maintain routine safety and environmental reports and records and files the applicable permits/documents (e.g., training, OSHA logs, EPA wastewater, stormwater, air sampling). Assist in new employee orientation training. Coordinate with Operations Manager on development and implementation of hazcom procedure and policies. Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards. Review and update written programs, audits, and accident investigations. What you'll need to have: A Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, or equivalent experience. Broad and detailed regulatory, training, inspection, and auditing knowledge. Prior EHS experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment highly desirable. Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety. Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities. Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure. Strong planning, organizational and follow up skills. Pay is starting 80,000 yearly | |
