CorTech is seeking to hire a Laboratory Technician I for our client in Sylmar, CA! Benefits Available! Weekly Pay! $25.00/Hour Level I: 0-3 years. Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine laboratory operations in a quality assurance or research setting. Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative biological or chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures. Assists higher level technicians in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures. Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests. Performs routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments. This is an entry-level position. Typically requires a high school education or equivalent and no prior experience. EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or related scientific field. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, coatings, quality control, or another technical field is preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make structured decisions on a routine basis. Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines. Experience in coatings/materials characterization by FTIR, UV-Vis, DSC, TGA, rheology, tensile testing, hardness, etc. Capable of instrument ownership, training, and maintenance. Good communication skills in working with technical, non-technical personnel, and all levels of management. Demonstrates a desire to take on new projects and supports where needed. Proficient in Microsoft Office. General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies. Must be able to wear required PPE, when applicable. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Support in the development of product to meet industrial standards, specifications, and other customer requirements. Evaluate new processes, products in conformance with engineering specifications. Address problems with the use of chemistry, instrumentation, and interpret data while being able to communicate results to management. Perform quality control testing in accordance with established company specifications and ASTM procedures and/or other accepted methods. Follows standard operating procedures of lab functions and equipment. Maintain sensitive technical equipment per written standards and procedures with excellent laboratory practices. Ensure documentation, and data accuracy; maintain a system of quality documents, and records. Write procedures/reports, input data into computer database/SharePoint, maintain a laboratory notebook, and generate test records. Provide assistance to Research, Quality, and Manufacturing support functions as needed. Work in a laboratory environment while following all applicable EH&S guidelines. Perform 5S cleaning and housekeeping duties as required. Will be required to perform projects/tasks as assigned. | |
