CorTech is seeking to hire a HR Assistant for our client in Arden Hills, MN!

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Education: HS degree minimum, certification in HR (in benefits, payroll, PHR, etc.) preferred.

Strong Human Resources experience, preferably experience with leaves of absence, knowledge of FMLA and general knowledge of state leave laws, payroll experience (preferably Workday knowledge), general benefits knowledge.

Assistance with team projects and possible coverage for HR Solutions Center as needed

Job Description: Performs leave of absence payment processing, auditing, research and resolution for pay issues; handles process that is to be automated for pay and status generation, monitors for errors, participates in testing of requested changes, acts as day to day contact for LOA escalated issues in partnership with HRSC Manager and Dedicated consultant; conducts research in partnership with vendor and internal resources to resolve issues and identify root cause with plan on how to rectify problem; partners with LOA consultant as needed; manages unpaid leaves and administration of state leaves that require company intervention and/or interpretation; Provides guidance to all levels of employees for certain policies and procedures which requires some policy and procedure interpretation. This role is highly benefits focused. Candidate should have a strong understanding of FMLA and short term disability programs, as well as overall understanding of benefits administration. Additionally, this role includes some calendaring requirements (scheduling large group meetings and coordinating schedules among several key stakeholders).

In this role, the individual will partner with the benefits team to monitor leaves of absence approvals and extensions, respond to the leave of absence carriers for any inquiries, work with managers and HR of employees who are on a leave of absence, document the appropriate status and duration (IE: FMLA with pay from May 22, 2015 to June 15, 2015), conduct audits to ensure no duplicate pay occurred (IE: work hours submitted for the same time frame the employee was receiving disability pay), triage the "FMLA inbox" in connection with the dedicated consultant, and route the issues received to the appropriate internal party. It is helpful if this person has worked at a larger employer that offers a full suite of benefits, preferably outsourced administration. Additionally, this individual should understand payroll and have experience with calculating disability based on several factors, understand payroll processes and downstream impacts to status changes and pay as well the ability to audit and manually correct statuses and pay based on audit outcomes.
