CorTech is seeking to hire a Lab Assistant I for our client in Ames, IA! Pay rate: 15.00 This company is family owned and focuses in human pharmaceuticals, animal health, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The Iowa State Research Park location is an animal health research site. The mission of this company is to provide value through innovation. Roles and Responsibilities: Laboratory Maintenance Handling and decontamination of biohazardous waste Make reagents/media prep. Sterilizing equipment and glassware Operation of autoclaves Maintaining stock room and stocking of laboratories Handle chemicals safely Through these tasks, the intern will have the opportunity to make professional connections in the animal health industry as well as gain the experience needed for future careers. Students are asked for at least a 10 hour commitment during the school year and is recommended to work at least 2 hour intervals that work with their school schedule. The best time to come is during large gaps before or after classes. Interns are given the opportunity to stay for the summer, perform their usual tasks and be involved in research projects with scientists. At the end of the summer, students will have the chance to demonstrate their acquired knowledge and have practice for presenting research. Making these connections can allow for networking and additional responsibilities in this role and future roles. Skills: Undergraduate student. 10-20 hours during Semester and up to 40 hours during the Summer. Education: pursuing a bachelors in biology or science field | |
