Job Summary:
Operate the plating line and contribute to the efficient operation of manufacturing duties to produce quality parts for our customers. Operate machinery, move and transfer material in orderly manner to insure proper flow of service and operations to all departments. Comply with current ISO requirements, all safety requirements, and good housekeeping standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

-Assure we are plating the parts to the shop order and print.
-Communicate to the supervisor if information is inaccurate or missing.
Verify plating line set up is correctly
-Delicately handle the parts to ensure they are not damaged.
Check parts coming off the line to ensure the parts are clean, dry and not sticky.
-Properly fill out all paperwork, complete and correct.
-Keep line loaded at all times, No empty barrels.
-Keep barrels loaded at maximum weights
-Safely operate machinery.
-Follow safety policies including the use of PPE
-Keep work area clean and aisles unobstructed
-Inform supervisor or any maintenance or machine issues that arise that may cause a safety issue
-May be required to perform other duties as directed by supervisors.

Training:
Successfully complete:

-Show and explain how product is moved through the process, the use of the inventory tracking ticket, the location and other source codes and how these are used to move product from one location to another.
-Explain the part number system that identifies each part and express the importance of double-checking all part numbers before proceeding with any movement of parts.
Show the trainee where the scales are located and explain how to use them properly.
-Introduce the trainee to other employees in the area who may be able to provide assistance when needed.
-Safety glasses must be worn while in the building
Gloves are available to help prevent injuries to hands and fingers.
-Show and explain how to start up the plating line.
Show and explain how to load the drums into the plating line
-Show and explain how to dry the parts coming off the plating line.
-Show and explain how to complete the paperwork for the job.
Precautions must also be taken when lifting and moving a drum of parts using a hand truck. To avoid injuries, learn your limitations.
-Trainee must be instructed to check for weight limitations for the fork lift trucks, storage racks, skids, drums and baskets to prevent potential hazards.
-Only trained and certified employees are permitted to operate any forklift trucks.
The brakes, tires, and hydraulic system should be checked at the start of each shift
Explain how to verify the trucks load capacity and emphasize that these limits never to be exceeded.
-Explain and demonstrate the refueling or recharging of the truck. This task must require the operators absolute, undivided attention.
-Persons other than the operator, are not permitted to ride on a lift truck unless in a safety platform.
-Show and explain the trucks lift controls, steering, and movement controls.
-Explain and show the forks of the truck should extend completely under the load to be lifted. This is to prevent the truck from tipping forward.
-When traveling with a load on the truck, the forks should be placed 2-4 inches off the floor.
-When approaching a blind spot, sound the horn and lower the speed.
-If the operators vision is obstructed when traveling with a load, turn the truck around and travel in reverse.
When traveling up and down an incline with a heavy or large load, travel backward going down and forward going up the incline.
-Excessive travel speed causes most lift truck accidents. Express the need for all truck drivers to maintain a safe speed.
-Never leave the lift truck parked in front of a doorway or emergency exit, nor leave a load there likewise.
-When dismounting from the lift truck, make sure the key is in the OFF position or removed from the ignition switch.
Also when dismounting, always face the lift truck then back off the truck while holding with both hands.
Show and explain what is done to the truck at the end of the work shift.

Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Need to be able to exercise good judgment and decision making skills. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have Other Skills and Abilities - Must be detail oriented. Must be organized and have the ability and drive to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Other Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily and meet the physical demands to successfully perform the essential function of this job. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or physical ability required. At CMCs discretion, exceptions to these can be made to accommodate individual circumstances.
Education and/or experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Employee must be able to perform basic reading, writing and mathematical functions. Computer knowledge and keyboard skills a plus.

Language Skills:
- Ability to read and write. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memorandums and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.

Mathematical Skills:
- Basic mathematical skills are required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration Must possess (acquire through training) and maintain fork lift operator certification.

Physical Requirements:
- The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Required to bend, stoop and lift up to 55 pounds on a regular basis (Hubbell requires assistance with lifting anything over 35lbs and has tools in place to ensure this takes place)
Specific vision abilities include close vision, color, distance, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
