CorTech is seeking to hire a Histotechnologist for our client in Festus, MO! Benefits Available! Weekly Pay! $44.82/Hour Start Time 8:00 AM End Time 5:00 PM FLU and COVID-19: All travelers must be completely vaccinated PRIOR TO START. There are no exceptions. SHIFT INFO Shift day Shifts per week 5 Hours per shift 8 EXPERIENCE Years of Experience Three Years Plus CERTIFICATIONS Certifications HTL(ASCP) - required DESCRIPTION Performs computer functions, processes patient specimens, maintains department inventory, operates and maintains equipment, and performs record keeping tasks and QI functions. Performs routine histological procedures. Adheres to patient identification, Lab safety, and other Client Lab and department policies and procedures. Develops standard operating procedures in department. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Client Service Standards Job Description Responsibilities Computer Functions: ? Accession cases into Lab Information System (LIS) and enter tests into LIS as needed. ? Look up patients in Hospital Information System (HIS) and LIS. Specimen Preparation & Handling: ? Handles specimens prior to accession (pick up, add proper fixative as needed, specimen prep or other as required). ? Prepares Non-GYN and/or GYN Cytology specimens as required. ? Provides autopsy assistance as needed. ? Cuts frozen sections as required. ? Coverslips and labels slides. ? Completes AP/Cyto specimen send out prep and documentation (as required). ? Files and retrieve blocks, slides and other items as needed ? Performs routine embedding, cutting and staining as required. ? Performs special stains ? Performs IHC stains ? Grosses derms as required. ? Performs FISH testing and Digital Pathology. Instrument: ? Performs equipment maintenance with record-keeping; ie. Cryostat, bone saw, tissue processor, etc. ? Troubleshoots staining issues and equipment. QC & Documentation: ? Initiates specimen problem reports and lab variance reports. ? Maintains Lab documents as needed. ? Maintains inventory. ? Provides technical QC/QA as needed. ? Selection of appropriate control tissue and assists with development of SOPs as required. ? Assists with regulatory accreditation preparation as needed. ? Assists with validation as needed. Technical Assistance & Interdepartmental Activities: ? Assists Pathologists/PAs/HT/CT during their activities. ? Mentors and Trains Lab Assistants and Techs as needed. ? Interacts with staff from other departments and work groups in line with Client Service Standards. ? Accurately prepares lab solutions as needed with analytic scale usage when required. ? Involved with special projects as needed. Organizes, prioritizes and completes work to meet defined TAT and professional expectations. | |
