M-F Schedule 12:30pm-9:00pm Pay is $18.16/hour Exciting opportunity to be a part of a Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy! As a Pharmacy Technician in the Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, you will work in a fulfillment capacity to ensure that our patients receive life sustaining specialty drug therapy. You will be responsible for filling new patient medication orders and reorders. You will be cross-trained on other functions within the facility as assigned. Successful individuals should be able to manage multiple pharmacy workstations and tasks and are dedicated to supporting the team?s ability to promptly, safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions and to providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations. Requirements: *****MUST have an IL Pharm Tech License (have one year to become certified***** ***Already has a National Certificate - must obtain IL license before first day*** *National pharmacy technician certification. Eligible for state registration, certification or licensure per state regulations. -Comfortable using automated pill counting machine (EYECON). Training provided. -Comfortable in a warehouse environment -HS Diploma -At least 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician. -Knows drug names and has basic pharmacology/terminology knowledge. Room for growth: at this location, the pharmacy tech's will start packaging pill prescriptions only. Once they are comfortable with the process, they will move on to learn to prepare and package more complex medications over a period of time, pending performance, increasing the complexity of the medications . This is done in an effort to grow and not stay stagnant in a position for a long period of time. Responsibilities: -Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, selects, prepares and packages medications and supplies in preparation for shipment to patients. -Performs record keeping functions. -Assists in various inventory control processes. -Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift (8-10 hours). Will be using adjustable tables, but will always be standing and moving. -Must be able to repeatedly lift 5-10 lb. tote boxes and medication boxes for duration of shift. -Reaching and grasping objects at various levels is required. -Selects, picks, packages and labels medications and ancillary supplies per prescription, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in accordance with specialty guidelines and pharmacy laws. -Accurately count medications utilizing a manual process as well as any automated counting devices (EYECON). -Exercise proper hand sanitization and hazardous medication handling practices. -Perform functions &/or responsibilities of an Operations Assistant as needed. -Responsible for preparing and/or restocking the filling station with medications and/or supplies as needed. -Responsible for cleaning all pill counting devices/equipment and general working areas. -Able to collaborate with others to fill and ship accurate and timely orders. -Must be able to recognize limitations on decision-making scope and be able to escalate issues falling outside of that scope. Work Environment: *Employee regularly works near and around moving machinery (conveyor belts).The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be required to wear protective clothing or equipment.
