Starting on Day shift (7:30am-4:00pm). Possibly transition to 12 shift 7:00amm-7:00pm

Job Context:

Site characteristics and dynamics:

DNP M&T Kingstree Site is a multi-plant site in which the following processes and technologies are operated:
? Fermentation (8 x 272K liter, 1 x 157K liter, 1 x 131K liter). Currently operated to produce DHA-T for infant nutrition and DHA-S for food and supplement applications.
? Spray drying facility for DHA-T (2 dryers).
? Hexane extraction facility for DHAGold biomass.
? Hexane extraction facility for ARA.
? Aqueous extraction facility for DHA-S, DHA-O, and Bell.
? Refining, Bleaching, Winterization and Deodorization (RBWD) for DHA and ARA.
? Blending & packaging operation.
? Utilities. Complete infrastructure of steam generation etc.

Job Content:

Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibility

Operation of process equipment and utilities to include changing process conditions, open/closure of valves, and sterilization of piping/tanks, monitoring process conditions and adjusting as needed.

Accurately maintain proper documentation of process information

Follow all safety guidelines and immediately report any non-conformances

Maintain GMP work environment and perform housekeeping duties as assigned.

May operate computerized control systems to monitor and maintain process conditions

Add proper levels of chemicals and other additives to process as needed based on calculations or as determined

Other duties as assigned by management.

Ensure Quality procedures, Management Directives and Quality.

Report any quality deviations or non-conformances that you observe.

Support routine Quality talks/briefings with staff to raise Quality awareness (for those with direct reports)

Has the authority to intervene in the event of a quality or safety protocol concern

SHE:
Knows and follows all Client Life Saving Rules.

Displays and promotes positive safety behaviors at all times; uses proper personal protective equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures to ensure that self and others go home safe each day; that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; that all people in the area (personnel, visitors, contractors, etc.) complies with the safety directives.

Acts in such a way that safety awareness and accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks; responsible to work in a SHE responsible manner and report all SHE incidents, shows leadership by working to SHE standards and encouraging employees to work to the same standards.

Knowledge and educational level

High School diploma or equivalent

High degree of manual dexterity and good mechanical and technical aptitude

Good verbal and written communication skills

Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift

Close attention to detail

Computer knowledge preferred

Required level of experiences

Basic entry-level knowledge of manufacturing setting.
Ability to communicate effectively with department personnel.
Ability to complete accurate documentation
Minimal level problem solving techniques.
Basic mathematics skills required

Physical Requirements

o Work safely in manufacturing environment that utilizes audible signals and alarms.
o Demonstrate visual recognition of workplace hazards; and
o Read and comprehend labels and MSDS sheets.
o Reach with hands and arms.
o Effectively communicate using radios and telephones in manufacturing/materials environment.
