CorTech is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator for our client in Grand Rapids, MI 49507!

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Support the production of all products by organizing and facilitating the flow of packaged materials into, within and out of the plant. Responsibilities include off-loading incoming packaged materials and loading finished packaged product onto an outside carrier?s vehicle; housekeeping, inspection and organization of plant storage areas; inspection of all delivery paperwork; final inspection and verification of orders leaving the facility; and any other duties as directed by the Logistics Leader or Plant Manager.
? Operates forklift to off-load drums, pallets or any packaged raw material, supply or finished goods from incoming van (box) trailer or container and delivers them to the appropriate destination within the plant.
? Ensures that product being shipped is packaged properly and adequately for safe transportation and that the FIFO inventory practice is always followed unless specific instruction not to, is documented.
? Palletizes and/or stages orders scheduled for shipping taking steps to ensure the correct count and that all finished goods are within their shelf life.
? Inspects outgoing goods to ensure:
a. Labeling is accurate and complete
b. Containers are clean and show no indication of leaks
c. Bungs are tightened to the correct torque
? Operates forklift to safely load material per standard procedures and ensure all outgoing vehicles are furnished correct placards.
? Consolidates and organizes to facilitate the flow of materials.
? Rotates stock to ensure materials are handled on a ?first in, first out? basis.
? Ensures that all storage of raw materials and finished goods is organized and labeled.
? Ensures that all non-AA material is stored in the designated quarantine area.
? Maintains (in conjunction with other production personnel) the overall organization and housekeeping of warehouses and storage pads.
? Notifies maintenance and a supervisor of equipment malfunctions to ensure timely and quality production.
? Patrols work area to detect leaks and equipment malfunctions, and monitor operating conditions.
? Observes safety precautions to prevent fires and explosions.
? Follows all plant work instructions, standard operating procedures, quality procedures and plant rules.
? Communicates ideas, problems or situations by means of a safety suggestion, work order, an employee suggestion or a situation notification.
? Ensures that housekeeping and appearance of his/her work area is adequate and acceptable so as to promote safety and accuracy in material handling procedures.
? Ensure aisle ways, stairs, fire extinguishers, eyewash and shower stations are clean and open (not blocked).
? Tools and materials are put away.
? Trash in proper containers and trash containers are emptied.
? Machinery is kept clean "as possible".
? Spills are cleaned up immediately and reported shift supervision.
? Complies with requirements outlined in the Plant Riles.
? Report safety issues that occur/ become noticeable during your shift.
? Follows instructions and requests from Plant Manager and other members of plant management.
? Seeks out information on orders and job duties when in doubt.
? Reports to work on time, and is dependable.
? Responsible for housekeeping in all warehouse areas & shipping office or as specifically assigned.
? Keeps material handling equipment clean and well maintained
? Complies with departmental and job safety practices, including wearing personal protective equipment.
? Completes tasks in a timely manner.
? All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
? High School Diploma or Equivalent
? Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing; prefer chemical manufacturing
? Basic computer skills
? Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers
? Highly motivated team player able to work at a fast pace
