Education or training in a secondary school in a technical discipline with some work experience in a technical discipline Ability to work with basic computer programs (e.g. creating documents in Microsoft Office) Basic machining/fabrication knowledge (can fabricate simple fixtures/components) Responsible for assisting in concept generation, design, development and evaluation of new products, materials and technologies. Develops prototype products, processes and test set-ups Sets up and operates manufacturing and/or test equipment. Records data with limited supervision. Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Products engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics) Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis. Scope equipment for use and complete qualifications Notifies manager upon recognition of factors that may affect project Execution of designed test protocol Effective documentation and communication of test results Requirements: A combination of education (education or training must include a secondary school and must have been in a technical discipline) and 2 or more years relevant work experience (4 or more preferred).
