The nbn (National Broadcast Network) HFC network serves over 2 million nbn services and has a suite of element management systems and operational tools to support ongoing assurance, performance management, and capacity management of the network and services. The role is responsible for the ongoing development of these HFC EMS and operational tools platforms as part of achieving the nbn's vision for becoming a brilliant wholesaler, enabling Australia's Digital Future. Scope of the Role Drive improvements to the HFC EMS and operational tools through solution ideation, business analysis, technical solution definition and product ownership across nbn delivery teams Minimize risk to customer experience, performance management, assurance and activations through lifecycle management and transition planning of EMS and operational tools platforms Build relationships with existing and potential future users of the EMS and tools platforms to ensure the platforms are meeting the broader needs of nbn Work with vendors and standards bodies to deliver against nbn requirements of EMS and tools solutions through one-on-one discussions, forums, and working groups Please note This is a 1099 position The contractor duration is 6-12 months Qualifications 4 years of telecommunications or IT experience Experience in assessing and developing requirements for the design, development, and implementation of IT systems Experience in the development and documentation of technical standards You are expected to be able to write technical documents You are expected to be able to present solution architecture and solution designs. Presentations need to be targeted to audiences with differing levels of technical capability. You are expected to be able to engage a range of different stakeholder groups and obtain consensus and agreement on solution architecture and solution designs. Preferred Experience Degree in IT engineering or a similar telecommunications-related field Familiarity with HFC technologies and DOCSIS Experience in designing element management systems supporting a telecommunications network Experience in designing complex IT systems with large data sets, system-to-system interfaces, and user interfaces Experience in performing the role of product owner for agile delivery teams Familiarity with risk management according to an enterprise risk management framework Preparation of business cases for technology initiatives Necessary Skills & Characteristics You are expected to adhere to the policy and procedures of nbn You must ensure your safety and the safety of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions You are required to cooperate with any actions, taken by nbn, in order to provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk To use equipment, in accordance with any instructions given by nbn consistent with its safe and proper use Willingness to explore opportunities for nbn in developing technology applicable to HFC networks## | |
