**Job Title:** CNC Machinist Level 1 Pay: $16- 24 Location: Fullerton, CA **Work Schedule:** - 1st shift is from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. - 2nd shift is from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. - Possibly, four 10-hour night shifts per week may be available. - Opportunities to volunteer for overtime work on select Saturdays. **Job Summary:** As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to machine plastic or metalwork pieces to specifications. You will review setup sheets, interpret complex drawings, perform a variety of related operations, and maintain quality standards. Your role will also require regular machine maintenance, efficient daily order processing, and active participation in the larger fabrication team. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** 1. Set up, program, and operate CNC machines such as mills, lathes, routers, and saws. 2. Interpret complex drawings, program sheets, instructions, and process sheets to determine work requirements. 3. Perform diversified operations on numerical controlled machines. 4. Review setup sheets and specifications to determine sequence and dimensions of finished work pieces. 5. Attach fixtures to machines per setup instructions. 6. Detect and report machine malfunctions. 7. Perform a variety of inspection and gauging operations to ensure maintenance of quality standards and specifications. 8. Adjust machine according to specifications. 9. Clean machine parts and perform machine maintenance. 10. Notify Supervisor of any discrepancies. **Competencies:** 1. Problem-solving: Ability to identify and communicate problems promptly. 2. Teamwork: Ability to work as part of the larger fabrication team. 5. Quality Management: Determine acceptable fabricated parts and communicate when not met. 6. Professionalism: Tactful, respectful, and responsible; capable of managing pressure. 7. Safety and Security: Adhere to safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions. 8. Adaptability: Capable of dealing with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. 9. Dependability: Consistently at work and on time; takes responsibility for own actions. 10. Initiative: Proactively takes advantage of opportunities; asks for and offers help when needed. **Qualifications:** 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Previous machine operation experience is required. 3. CNC machine certification is a plus. 4. Forklift certified. 5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. 6. Basic mathematical skills and ability to use and read basic measuring devices. 7. Basic computer skills and understanding of machining programs. **Physical Demands:** 1. Frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. 2. Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 3. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 4. Must become forklift certified, which includes driving and upper body twisting. 5. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. **Work Environment:** 1. Occasionally exposed to cold, wet, hot, and/or humid conditions. 2. Work involves moving mechanical parts. 3. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
