CorTech is seeking to hire a Payroll Professional for our client in Atlanta, GA!

In this key role, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring that strong controls, regulatory and legislative compliance and service excellence exists across all jurisdictions. As required, this position partners and works closely with the business, finance, and the other Centers of Expertise (COE) to provide guidance and ensure consistent operations and issue management. The Payroll Manager is accountable for the oversight of all aspects of payroll management including day-to-day operations, process reengineering, payroll tax & accounting, and internal/external audits.

Responsibility:
? Must possess an excellent multi-faceted functional knowledge of payroll administration, taxes and garnishments in a multi-state environment processing payroll for over 4000 employees as well as have the ability to create and implement strategic process improvements.
? Maintain and manage payroll-related legal and regulatory compliance.
? Must have the ability to interact with executives at all levels and possess excellent business writing and communication skills.
? Identify and implement payroll process improvements and best practices to drive process excellence and eliminate errors.
? Develop project plans for reporting and monitoring of process improvement initiatives.
? Maintain effective internal controls for the payroll function and proactively identify efficiency improvements and gaps.
? Accountable for the accuracy of all system generated direct deposits and checks, including computation and calculation of special checks for overtime, bonus pay, PTO pay, and termination pay and all related reporting.
? Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
? Resolve issues by providing root cause analysis and corrective action for all complex or non-routine situations for all levels of employees and management.
? Manages relationship with vendor.
? Responsible for Time and Attendance reporting of payroll data
? Perform Quarterly and Yearly audits and make adjustments as needed
? Training/coaching on process changes/improvement
? Calculate stock transactions biweekly and monthly.
? Performs other duties as assigned.
? Perform expat setup and testing
? Process multi-country assignment request
? Ensure team members? competencies and training needs match their scope of work.
? Will serve as 1st point of contact for escalation of any Payroll related issues and will be expected to communicate up to Management any concerns and issues in a timely manner.
? Contribute to and oversee any new global pay practice or policy rollouts
Qualifications
? Professional Payroll Certification designation
? Strong understanding of upstream and downstream processes such as HR, Finance, and Accounting functions and their impact on payroll
? Minimum 5-7 years of payroll experience, including knowledge of shadow payrolls
? Workday Payroll experience is an advantage
? Experience governing and managing payroll processing vendors
? Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements across jurisdictions including internal/external audit experience
? Strong understanding of finance processes
? Knowledge and experience working with current Human Resource systems, practices and policies, including payroll and time and attendance.
? Experience with HR systems (preferably Workday) including providing requirements, performing acceptance testing and evaluating performance. Experience configuring and implementing payroll cloud technology an asset
? Knowledge of local, state and federal employment standards and HR policies; experience in applying standards and policies to payroll and time and attendance applications
? Knowledge and experience in planning/management, risk management and governance functions.
? Strong knowledge and understanding of the theories of change management, vendor management, and project implementation
? Broad knowledge of Bank structure and Banking Group interrelationship
? Strong Leadership/management experience
? Strong Customer Service skills
