**Pay Rate:$22** Mon - Fri; 8 am - 4 pm (Flexible) This position will be in the Insulation Physical Properties Laboratory (PPL), which is a National Accredited testing lab. The PPL is responsible for performance testing of OC and competitive insulation materials, and it supports the product development and manufacturing plant activities for the Insulation Systems Business. The PPL Technician will be working with a team of the company employees to accurately and precisely measure the critical physical properties of fiberglass insulation, mineral wool insulation, and other insulation-related materials. We are looking for an outstanding individual who will provide support to several high-volume functional areas within our lab. This work will require the following skills and abilities: Provide support for PPL?s Product Testing Leads in providing critical physical property measurements by following standard testing procedures Prepare samples, place samples on test equipment, run test equipment, monitor testing, record results, and enter data from testing Work closely with lab lead to meet customer expectations for quality, turn-around time, communication of testing status, and achievement of overall lab outcomes Execute work in key testing, test method development, and fundamental testing knowledge areas, including areas in fiberglass, mineral wool products and systems The following skills and abilities are required: -Safety ? high emphasis on knowing and abiding by OC safety rules -Operate equipment and instrumentation for physical property measurements, which include reading tape measures, gages, Instrons, mass balances, protractors, thermometers, etc. -Collaborates and fosters teamwork; the PPL technician must be able to work both independently and with a team of people -Attention to detail is critical for accurate data collection and reporting -Good communication skills -Good organizational skills -Microsoft Office software ? Microsoft Excel spreadsheets primarily used, as well as Microsoft Word and Outlook -Multi-task and change focus as projects flow -Emphasis on quality data over rapid data -Read, comprehend and execute test methods and procedures -Lift up to 50 pounds -Tolerant of fiberglass and mineral wool-based products and dust -Reliable attendance record -Clear and accurate hand writing for recording data. | |
