CorTech is seeking to hire a Food and Nutrition Cook for our client in Bowling Green, KY! Benefits Available! Weekly Pay! $17.00/Hour Role Purpose The Food & Nutrition Cook will be an experienced and competent professional who is responsible for enhanced preparation, cleanliness, and organization of food and supplies in the Food & Nutrition Department. This role will provide excellent customer service to all patients and employees. Essential Functions Note: The following is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties required of this position General Essential Functions Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Checklist. Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives established annually as listed on the Performance Management Plan. Integrates ethics in all areas of practice. Adheres to confidentiality and patient?s rights policies. Supports the facilities? mission and values. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Specific Functions Prepares food per recipe specifications for daily use on the patient line, retail areas, doctor?s lounge, or for catered events. Reads production sheets and forecasts production needs for the patient line, retail areas, doctor?s lounge, or for catered events. Stocks food items on the patient line, retail areas, doctor?s lounge or for catered events. Performs assigned cleaning by supervisors and must be skilled in equipment operations. Additional Responsibilities: JOB KNOWLEDGE / PRODUCTIVITY Completes work within acceptable time limits. Demonstrates the ability to set priorities. Able to perform several tasks simultaneously during peak workload situations. Ensures accuracy and completeness of work performed. Maintains a clean organized work area. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of work practices, emergency procedures, and personal protective equipment to protect self and others from exposure to chemical and infectious hazards. COMMUNICATION / CUSTOMER SERVICE Strives for customer satisfaction. Displays courteous behavior to customers, guests, and co-worker. Must smile, make eye contact, and use AIDET principles when interfacing with patients. Listens to constructive criticism in a productive manner. Responds to supervisor's requests for information and assistance in a courteous manner and within required timeframe. DEPENDABILITY / INITIATIVE Ability to work independently and/or as part of the team as the situation dictates. Willing to adjust schedule in case of workload fluctuations. In light work situations, consults supervisor for additional assignments or independently seeks additional tasks. Exhibits willingness to master new work routines and methods. Abides by facility attendance policy. EDUCATION / DEVELOPMENT Learns new procedures and protocols. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures in performing job duties. Reports to supervisor any suggestions for positive change or recommendations to department policies and procedures. Completes annual mandatory In-Service requirements and Healthstream trainings. Attends department meetings (reviews and signs minutes when unable to attend). Assumes responsibility for continued professional development. Education & Experience: High School Degree 1 year cooking experience Preferred Preferred Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience Licenses, Certifications, & Training: Food Handlers or ServSafe Certificate within 90 days of hire Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of PATIENT SAFETY science principles, theory, methods, standards and regulatory requirements and experience with patient safety analysis techniques (methods), including root cause analysis, cause and effect analysis, and failure mode and effect analysis. Required Knowledge of HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety of food supply. Required Ability to USE DATABASE SOFTWARE to enter, retrieve, sort, and filter information as necessary for reporting or report generation | |
