CorTech is seeking to hire a Analytical Chemist II for our client in Pomona, CA!

Quantitative liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (?LC-MS/MS?) testing of biologic samples (i.e. urine, blood, oral fluid)
LC-MS/MS method development experience
LC-MS/MS method validation experience

This position is NonExempt. Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half. BS in Chemistry 7+ years experience, MS in Chemistry 2+ years experience. Working knowledge of above instruments, strong lab skills. Strong documentation skills, strong GMP, GLP. May have publications, or experience in presentation of findings to scientific organizations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs analytical testing/analysis of drugs of abuse and their metabolites in biologic matrices (urine, blood, oral fluid) using complex methods, procedures and equipment including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
Reviews GC-MS and LC-MS/MS data, prepares reports and answers stakeholder?s questions about results
Plays leading role to independently execute FDA-compliant GC-MS and LC-MS/MS method validations, including drafting protocols, data review, compiling results and drafting final reports
Assists drafting SOPs for new analytical methods.
Extraction chemist for multiple matrices
LC-MS/MS and GC-MS operator
LC-MS/MS and GC-MS data review and interpretation
Troubleshoot and maintain lab instruments and equipment including LC-MS/MS and GC-MS instruments.
Establish or revise procedures
Works independently using discretion and best judgment while coordinating work efforts with other colleagues.
Mentor and train other staff members
Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company?s policies and practices.
Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job. Has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities

Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies
Perform other duties & projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

BS degree in chemistry, biology or related technical field
Two to five years of experience in analytical chemistry laboratory performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of drugs in biologic specimens
Two to five years of experience quantifying drug concentrations in urine, blood and oral fluid specimens via GC-MS and LC-MS/MS
Two to five years of experience performing immunoassay screening to detect drugs in biologic samples
Experience validating GC-MS and/or LC-MS/MS quantitative methods for drugs in biologic specimens
Experience preparing in-house calibrators and quality control samples for assessing instrument performance during quantitative method development and validation.
Competent employing scientific calculations to convert units of mass, volume, and molarity.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Knowledge of Database and laboratory software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Product knowledge in medical device or diagnostics
Ability to work on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
Experience in exercising judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
