CorTech is seeking to hire a Solar Project Leader for our client in Richmond, VA!

Client Energy is increasing its annual installed solar generating capacity from about 300MWac to 1,000MWac per year. The solar construction group is organized into several sequential teams; Development, Diligence, Pre-Construction, Construction, and Close-Out. This Project Leader position will join the Pre-Construction Team, which oversees the engineering and permitting phase of the projects.

The Project Leader assists the Project Manager with all responsibilities of the project.
Responsibilities include:
Coordination with many internal stakeholders including Business Development, Tax, Real Estate, Environmental, Supply Chain, Project Controls
Coordination with external stakeholders, including counterparts in the EPC?s organization, permitting agencies, and Owners Engineers
Working with a cross-functional team that includes engineers, permitting specialists, contracts and financial analysts, and real estate analysts
Weekly team reporting to internal stakeholders
Close Development Gaps
Review EPC deliverables, including specifications and design drawings
Review contract Change Orders and other commercial documents
Ensure Real Estate agreements get executed to support project milestones
Turn over fully permitted projects to Construction team

Must have skill sets:
Ability to lead multiple projects during engineering and permitting phase
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated experience with reading and writing technical/construction documents

Nice to have skill sets:
Knowledge of solar design and construction
Knowledge of Virginia erosion and sediment control permitting

Soft Skill:
Ability to work in a team/matrix environment
Ability to build relationships with your counterparts in the EPC?s organization
Ability to navigate organizational hierarchies to accomplish project objectives

Education:
Bachelor?s degree (preferred disciplines include engineering, business, construction)

Experience:
Minimum 5 years as project engineer or assisting a project manager in multi-functional teams in a matrix environment.
