Job Title: Live-In Line Cook - Southern, Midwestern and Tex-Mex Cuisine Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and passionate line cook specializing in Southern, Midwestern, and Tex-Mex cuisines to join our dynamic culinary team at our beautiful ranch in Jelm, Colorado, a breathtaking retreat about two and a half hours outside of Denver. This individual will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, embracing traditional cooking techniques, and incorporating diverse flavors. We need a professional who appreciates the art of cooking with the hands-on skill to ensure our guests' satisfaction. This is a live-in position, Monday through Friday, with room and board covered, and meals provided. **Responsibilities:** 1. **Food Preparation:** Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using standard recipes for Southern, Midwestern, and Tex-Mex cuisine. Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served. 2. **Kitchen Operations:** Sets up stations and collects all necessary supplies to prepare the menu for service. Ensures compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards. 3. **Culinary Expertise:** Exhibits expert knowledge of traditional Southern, Midwestern, and Tex-Mex cooking techniques and ingredients. Maintains an up-to-date understanding of the current culinary trends in these cuisines. 4. **Menu Planning and Development:** Works with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in menu development and execution. Creates new dishes and recipes that adhere to the ranch's cuisine and brand. 5. **Inventory Management:** Manages kitchen resources, including ingredients and equipment. Ensures the timely order, receipt, and appropriate storage of supplies. 6. **Teamwork:** Communicates and coordinates with fellow staff to guarantee guest satisfaction and maintain the flow of the kitchen. **Benefits:** 1. Living accommodations on-site from Monday to Friday. 2. All meals provided (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). 3. Days off on Saturdays, with half-days or less on Sundays. **Qualifications:** 1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Line Cook or similar role, preferably with a focus on Southern, Midwestern, and Tex-Mex cuisines. 2. Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen. 3. Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. 4. A team player with good communication skills. 5. Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure. 6. High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; training from a culinary school will be an asset. **Skills:** 1. Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure. 2. Knowledge of best cooking practices. 3. Creative problem-solving skills. 4. Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. 5.
