JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an IT Developer with expertise in EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Software Development to handle the entire software development life-cycle. As an EDI Software Developer, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing user/business requirements, coding, and programming IT solutions that focus on processing healthcare transactions such as 837, 278, 835, 277, and 834. You will play a crucial role in modifying and debugging applications that process these types of transactions while ensuring the inclusion of IT Controls to protect application data and maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Your role will involve collaborating with clients to refine, test, and debug programs to meet business needs in the healthcare space. A solid understanding of X12 transactions, their structures, and how they are utilized in the healthcare industry is imperative.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Gather and analyze user/business requirements for EDI software development.
o Code and program IT solutions with a focus on processing healthcare transactions such as 837, 278, 835, 277, and 834.
o Modify and debug applications to address issues related to EDI transactions.
o Document system specifications and maintain comprehensive documentation for EDI-related projects.
o Perform performance testing and ensure the reliability and efficiency of EDI applications.
o Collaborate with clients to refine, test, and debug EDI programs to meet specific business needs.
o Implement IT Controls to safeguard application data and maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
o Stay updated with industry best practices and advancements in EDI Software Development.


REQUIREMENTS:

o 3-5 years of IT development/programming/coding professional work experience, with a strong focus on EDI Software Development.
o Must have Microsoft technology stack development experience. We are really looking for a developer that has EDI X12 experience. C#, WEB/API. SQL Server knowledge is important.
o Solid knowledge of healthcare transactions, including the ability to create, modify, and debug issues in applications that process 837, 278, 835, 277, and 834 transactions.
o In-depth understanding of X12 transactions, their structures, and how they are utilized in the healthcare space.
o Experience with unit testing, release procedures, coding design, and documentation protocol, including change management procedures.
o Proficiency using versioning tools such as GIT, GNU, RCS, SCCS, CVS, SVN, Mercurial, Monotone, etc.
o Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
o Flexibility to work as a team player in a collaborative environment.
o Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
o Willingness to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance.
o Demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills.
o Excellent communication skills to articulate technical information clearly.
o Adaptability to a rapidly changing environment.
o Familiarity with the systems development life cycle.
o Proficiency in programming in more than one object-oriented programming language such as: JAVA, Python, Ruby, C++, .Net, Objective-C, React.Js, Node.JS, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, etc.
o Additional languages such as Hadoop, Storm, Spark, Kafka, Hive, NFI, Scoop, etc.
o Proficiency in working with databases, including: SQL, MySQL, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, dBase, MS Access, etc.
o Experience using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools like Visio.
o Familiarity with debugging tools such as Advanced Debugger, Allinea DDT, AQtime, ARM, CA/EZTEST, etc.
o High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions consistent with business objectives and strategy.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o Various Domain experiences, such as Health Care or Financial sectors.
o Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
o Specific tools, languages, and specialty skills may vary.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
o High school diploma or GED. Additional relevant certifications or degrees in IT or software development are advantageous.
