We are currently looking for Food Service Generalists in Canton, NY. ***URGENTLY HIRING*** ***FLEXIBLE HOURS*** $15.40 As part of the Dining Services team, the Food Service Generalist works under the supervision of the Leader, Assistant Managers, and Managers and is responsible for preparing food items and continues to monitor food quality throughout the meal periods. Contributes to the total function of the dining service operation in a positive manner. The position is seasonal working 9 months from August through June and in connection with the academic year. Primary shifts are evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Schedule to be determined at the time of hire. Minimum Qualifications *Prior experience is preferred, but certainly not required. Operate standard cooking and dishwashing equipment and other mechanical devices located in a foodservice operation. *Prior experience in food prep is preferred Additional key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: -Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary. -Wrap menu items such as sandwiches, hot entrees, and desserts for serving or for takeout. -Scrub and polish counters, steam tables, and other equipment, and clean glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment. -Replenish foods at serving stations. -Serve salads, vegetables, meat, bread, ladle soups and sauces, portion desserts, and fill beverage cups and glasses. -Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. -Maintained proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment. -Carry out all reasonable requests by the leadership team. -Followed principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment. -Greet and serve guests with enthusiasm, courtesy, and hospitality. -Work standing up for scheduled hours in a food service environment. -Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
