CorTech is seeking to hire a Quality Assurance Tech for our client in Decatur, IL! Benefits Available! Weekly Pay! $20.00/Hour Shift: 3rd Shift Job Summary Perform laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to determine conformance to the specifications of quality and purity. Daily Food Safety Walkthrough of 2 food processing departments and proper documentation of findings. This will include written documentation for the daytime Quality team as well as verbal communication with Sanitation personnel to identify areas in need of attention. Environmental monitoring swabs of 2 departments and proper documentation of results. Thorough written communication of findings to Quality, Production, and Sanitation leadership to promote relevant follow-up actions. Must review and interpret shift notes and lab results with attention to abnormalities. Then, escalate to proper personnel (usually written communication). Must respond to any event within the complex as the Quality and Food Safety representative on-site and report relevant findings to Quality, Production, and Sanitation leadership to promote relevant follow-up actions. Clear communication with 2nd shift and daytime employees during shift change is necessary to ensure seamless transition between shifts. Review of lab samples for label accuracy and product quality prior to shipping of material. High level of organization skills is required to ensure samples are properly collected, labeled, and matched with accurate results. Review of Sanitation documentation and data entry for review and distribution. Employees may be required to work overtime during times of personnel shortages, vacations/absences, and/or plant events requiring additional quality-related assistance. Essential Job Functions Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to position Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations and policies Perform all required lab tests adhering to documented laboratory procedures Physical testing of production samples Daily verification of lab instruments Recording, interpreting, and entering test results using a computerized data system Maintain samples of tested product in order to confirm test results, when necessary Maintains adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies Continually compares test results with standards, as required, to ensure that all products are within specification Handle various chemicals in different containers in the manner outlined in the Safety Data Sheet provided by the manufacturer Job Qualifications Must be able to read/write/speak English, must be able to do basic arithmetic Must be able to write clearly Must be able to communicate with other employees in a clear and professional manner Must be able to work on multiple tasks and remain organized Must be able to work on a team Must have a willingness to learn Exhibit regular and prompt attendance Participates actively in training Reports to work in a condition to be able to perform all duties Practices proper personal hygiene High School Diploma or GED required, Associates in an applied science preferred Preferred analytical laboratory experience Position requires basic computer operation skills, i.e., use of ?point and click? programs, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote), and different software programs for the instruments. Understands that accidents are preventable, and that safety is everyone?s responsibility Commitment to Client goal of achieving a zero-injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties. Must be capable of working from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly (ex.
