JobsRUs.com is seeking to hire a Technicial Support Engineer for our client in the Virginia/Maryland area! Benefits Available! $41.50/Hour Contract to hire! Must be located in Virginia/Maryland area (IAD). May be traveling around during the position (some months may be up to 90%, others 50%) - When not in the field they can work remotely from home. The majority of work will be in the field at customer sites Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Our client is looking for someone with experience in OTDR testing as well as familiar with ISP and OSP network infrastructure. Summary: The main function of the Technical Support Engineer is to provide technical support to customer technicians, who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, debugging and maintaining products. Job Responsibilities: - Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineers/software engineering. - Assist with customer installation and training. - Provide support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature. - Apply company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. Skills: - Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. - Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time. - Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. - Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software. Education/Experience: - 5+ years experience required. - Degree preferred but not required | |
