CorTech is seeking to hire a Culinary Specialist for our client in Rosemont, IL! Benefits Available! Weekly Pay! $22.00/Hour Shift Start and End Time 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Scheduled Days Monday - Thursday BASIC PURPOSE Prep Cook and Inventory Steward Precisely execute culinary processes through cooking comparisons. Collaborate with Culinary & Inventory Specialist with sample inventory control including samples labeling, incoming order unboxing, stocking & rotating frozen and cooler samples. When cooking follow exact manufactures cooking instructions. Support Special events by preparing attractive platters and hot food cookery. Set up and breakdown buffets supporting special events and internal activities. Lead freezer and cooler clean outs with product developers and chefs. Assist dishwashing after large events, clean equipment and remove trash after special events. Qualities desired: must work clean and organized, Spanish speaking a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prep Cook, Inventory Steward Pre prep and prepare attractive platters for hot and cold buffets supporting Internal meetings catering and special event cooking. Collaborating with Culinary & Inventory Specialist with ordering and receipt of products from within Client as well as external suppliers. Inventory control, including short term & long-term effective management & weekly product donations to Greater Chicago Food Depository. Clean equipment and remove trash after events. SUPERVISION None RELATIONSHIPS Internal Sr Culinary Manager, Product Developers, Brands Chef, Sous Chef, Culinary & Inventory Specialist External: n/a QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training Restaurant experience or 2-year Culinary Degree preferred & a minimum of 2 years relevant kitchen experience. Must have experience in inventory & ordering procedures. Food Service Sanitation Certified a plus. Prior experience working in a large fast paced foodservice environment strongly desired. Spanish speaking a plus. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must possess excellent written &verbal communication skills, attention to detail. Must demonstrate firm culinary knowledge and ability to remain organized and manage multiple projects/priorities. Problem Solving Skills are also a must; candidate must be able to prioritize based on project needs & impact. | |
