Description:

QC Laboratory Technician I performs entry level quality control functions requiring basic-level production lab skills.

Quality Control functions may include, but are not limited to, the tasks below.

Organize, track materials/QC samples received for various QC analysis.
Operational running of all QC equipment proficiently.
Responsible for Pass/Fail of product per established specifications.
Monitor and maintain QC product standard level. Ensure product quality objectives are achieved.
Inform QC Manager or Production Management of all relevant production quality issues and failure trends that affect delivery.
Review, follow, and update work instructions and processes as needed.
Track priority runs and ensure that all special QC testing is performed.
Understand and properly use LIMS for each quality control step.
Track and analyze failed or problem product. Ensure conformance of QC testing.

Safety and Quality Responsibilities
Safety ? Wear appropriate PPE. Inform supervisor of potential safety hazards. Properly dispose of waste and hazardous materials. Follow all safety guidelines documented in associated SOP. Be alert and prepared for duties.
Quality ? Accurately follow SOP?s. Inspect products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
Perform routine accuracy checks and cleaning/sanitizing on equipment to ensure quality production.
Documentation ? Complete quality assurance records.

Communication
Able to have clear and direct communication with leadership and peers both within own department and other departments. Provide thorough updates and details to set up the next shift for success. Communicate issues in a timely manner. Able to articulate and explain QC needs to support departments such as Logistics, Production, Maintenance, etc.

Who you are:
Education and Experience
Minimum ? 2-year degree with 6 months of laboratory experience
Preferred ? 4-year degree with 1-3 years of laboratory experience
Skills
Detail oriented
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Strong computer skills (MS Office)

Environmental conditions
Workspace contains flammable solvents, carcinogens, and corrosives. Requirement to wear all personal equipment as directed by procedure (gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, possibly face shield).

Physical requirements
Reaching: extending arm(s) to touch or grasp something.

Speaking: Speak clearly so listeners can understand

Strength: Exert up to 30 pounds
Climbing: Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand(s).
