JobsRUs.com is seeking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Salinas, CA!

Pay rate: 25.00 - 30.00

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 1:30pm- 10:00pm


SUMMARY: A Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all Client employees and that all necessary repairs/replacements are done in timely manner for best possible production output.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform general and preventative maintenance on powder coating systems which includes: powder coating booth and guns, industrial ovens, industrial washers, and conveyors.
Perform general grounds and building maintenance.
Work from electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical blue prints
Determine need for repair or replacements of equipment, etc
Refurbish and/or rebuild equipment as necessary.
Monitor and/or test equipment to ensure all safety and codes are correct.
Ensure that equipment safeguards and protective devises are operational at all times.
Construct and maintain all fixtures, units and sections.
Request needed supplies for building and equipment maintenance.
Operate fork truck as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Regular attendance and punctuality is required
Overtime, including weekends, as needed could be mandatory
Must wear all PPE required for the specific work area

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working on and with powder coating systems including: coating booths, powder coating guns, industrial ovens, industrial washers & conveyors
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills normally acquired through a high school diploma or GED.
Four (4) years experience in general electrical, mechanical, and/or auto maintenance
Two (2) years experience w/ pumps, & motors.
Must have and/or be able to obtain fork truck certification.
Must have a complete compliment of standard industrial tools needed to maintenance all types of equipment.
Must be able to read electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic prints and schematics.
Have basic knowledge of PLC trouble shooting.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, fixtures, and codes.
Knowledge of proper use of safety equipment; i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, and work boots where necessary.

PHYSICALS DEMANDS & WORK ENVIROMENT:
Lifting up to 35 pounds
Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
Work at heights of up to 30 feet above the ground.
Work around electricity.
Lift, pull, push and reach using a full range of motion.
Work in dusty, smoky, and wet areas at times.
Work usually takes place in a manufacturing environment where conditions can be reflective of the outside elements.
