Job Title: Data Analyst Job Summary: A data analyst is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to support data-driven decision-making within the organization. This role involves working with various data sources, statistical techniques, and data visualization tools to provide actionable insights and recommendations. Key Responsibilities: Data Collection: Gather data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and external datasets. Data Cleaning: Clean and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Data Analysis: Apply statistical analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in the data. Data Visualization: Create clear and informative data visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to present findings to stakeholders. Report Generation: Prepare reports and presentations summarizing the results of data analysis, along with actionable recommendations. Data Interpretation: Interpret data and communicate findings in a non-technical manner to stakeholders, helping them make informed decisions. Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality and integrity through validation and auditing processes. Hypothesis Testing: Conduct hypothesis testing to validate assumptions and hypotheses. Database Management: Work with databases and SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data. Machine Learning: Depending on the organization's needs, some data analysts may also be involved in basic machine learning tasks, such as predictive modeling or classification. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest data analysis techniques and tools and apply them to improve analytical processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics). Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, or SQL. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/seaborn. Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques. Excellent communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Microsoft Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams skills required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Minimum education requirement: Bachelors Degree. Engineering experience a plus (not required). Assignments will include data management and clerical support. Also support Chain of Custody (COC) management for pipeline records. |
