Shift: 7:30 am to 4 pm

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician I will support the R&D group including but not limited to Systems Engineering, Reagent Development , Genomics and select Hardware Engineering laboratories by providing general laboratory support.
Exercises good judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing laboratory maintenance for multiple laboratories following good laboratory procedures including operation of a clean and efficient laboratory, documenting all work, such as, but not limited to:

Empty laboratory recycle bins
Monitor temperature of small refrigerators and freezers
Organize and stock lab supplies within the labs and stockrooms
Handle biohazard waste maintenance
Maintains glassware by pick-ups, cleaning, washing and distributing
Performs DI water daily flushes
Enforce strict health and safety regulations
Monitoring the stock level of Sheath and Shutdown solutions
Responsible for delivery, set-up, and pickup of lab equipment, lab materials and office supplies
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping with the labs
Preform and maintain scheduling of cold storage maintenance
Assist with shipment of lab materials both domestic and international
Preparebuffers and other standard laboratory solutions
Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to communicate clearly, including effective oral and written communication skills
Effective multitasking capabilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Demonstrated ability to keep neat, accurate and complete records and logs
Medium work of lifting and/or pushing up to 30- 45 pounds
Familiar with general GMP/GLP procedures with a strong focus on quality

Education and experience:
BS in Biology or related discipline
Minimum 1 year experience in a GMP or GLP environment BD04123JD
