JobsRUs.com is seeking to hire a Network Engineer for our client in Richmond! Benefits Available! Duration: Through the end of 2024. Salary: $49.00/Hour Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 8 hours a day (Start times between 7 and 9 AM) Travel: Occasional 3-day trips within the East Coast region (travel expenses reimbursed) Join our team as a Temporary Network Engineer supporting our client in Richmond. In this role, you will provide on-site support for design validation and clarification during data center construction and retrofits. You'll collaborate with various teams to generate infrastructure design packages, validate cabling builds, and ensure compliance with global standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Collaborate with project management, network engineering, and data center connectivity for infrastructure design packages. Validate cabling infrastructure builds in coordination with construction and design teams. Provide guidance on facility power, cooling, rack layout, and cable management during deployments and retrofits. Maintain technical documentation and develop automation tools as needed. Offer on-site expertise for infrastructure design questions. Represent our client in construction meetings, understanding design intent and change management. Gather, review, and interpret data for fiber optic network validation. Verify and track changes to equipment and facility documents. Collaborate with engineers and equipment providers for up-to-date versions. Serve as a subject matter expert for network engineering systems in data centers. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or 3-5 years of telecommunications industry experience. 3+ years of experience in structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure. Basic knowledge of IP routing/switching technologies, protocols, or long-haul optical networks. Understanding of fiber optic network physical connectivity. Proficiency in project management, Visio, and MS Office. Strong time management and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
