Job Title: Maintenance Tech/Handyman
Pay: 19.24 per hour
Location: Albany, GA
Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Role Purpose:

To ensure the safe and efficient operation of all hotel facilities, equipment, and tools. The Maintenance Tech/Handyman is responsible for the repair and upkeep of the hotel's physical plant, which includes the building's interior and exterior, grounds, mechanical systems, plumbing, and electrical systems. The candidate is also tasked with contributing to guest satisfaction by promptly responding to repair requests, participating in preventative maintenance routines, and supporting the overall operational needs of the hotel.

Key Accountabilities:

- Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment
- Calibrate controls, gauges, meters, and other measurement devices
- Identify and operate all shut-off valves for utilities in the facility
- Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies as needed
- Maintain an organized inventory and purchase orders log
- Inspect tools, equipment, or machines for wear and tear and safety compliance
- Operate power lifts as needed for tasks
- Complete life safety checklist tasks including fire-pump run test and generator run test
- Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems regularly
- Assist in the development of disaster response protocols
- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and complaints
- Assist management in the hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating of staff

Key Skills & Experiences:

- Strong practical knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, and general construction
- Basic computer skills for entering and locating work-related information
- Experience operating power lifts and heavy machinery
- Ability to complete safety training and certifications
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Teamwork-oriented with a strong ability to work collaboratively
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Basic inventory management skills

Physical Requirements:

- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight
- Ability to move up and down stairs and/or service ramps
