JobsRUs.com seeks motivated, reliable employees with strong work ethic for the Electrical Assembler position in Norfolk, VA.

Shift:
Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm with occasional overtime required

Position Summary:
Candidate is responsible for assembling electrical components and/or sub-assembles for compressors.

Job Functions:
Reads and interprets blueprints and schematics
Install and connect electrical components such as transformers, PLCs, starters, relays, etc.
Build wiring harnesses to required specifications.
Utilize basic hand and power tools for daily operations.
Effectively and efficiently run cabling and properly terminate ends.
Communicate the status of missing parts needed to produce assemblies and harnesses with a sense of urgency.
Use any specialized tooling that is required within the respective area. Complete any necessary certifications if required to do so.
Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
Utilize basic electrical tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, measuring tape and multimeters to complete electrical assemblies as well as testing connections.
Utilize power tools such as drills and knockout punches to build electrical assembly panels/enclosures.
Maintain a work environment in accordance with Lean 5S standards and perform tasks in accordance with company safety standards.
Understand BOM change process and communicate change requirements throughout the build.
Utilize ERP software to accurately record time worked.
Maintain working knowledge of Workmanship Standards as well as the ISO quality system. Utilize these practices in everyday activity.

Essential Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of one year of related electrical assembly experience in point-to-point wiring and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Wiring single and three phase motors experience.
Wire harness assembly experience.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
Proficient in reading and interpreting standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc.
Able to follow directions and work independently.
Can adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment.
Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power and air tools.
Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
Self motivated with desire to learn.

Physical Demands:
Candidates are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use eyes for close vision, use hands, fingers, grasp, handle, reach, listen, talk and may need to talk on the telephone while taking notes. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to 30 pounds or ask for assistance. The candidate is also required to wear eye protection when walking through the plant.
