Pay Rate - $33-43/hr 1st Shift: 8am-5pm Job Description Assists with the application and use of engineering controls to control hazards and reduce risks in the facility or site. Key Responsibilities: Helps to anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices. Develops basic hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs. Administers and communicates hazard control programs. Interprets and applies internal and external standards in support of hazard reduction and compliance. Qualifications and Competencies: Fundamentals of Health and Safety - comprehensive knowledge of occupational health & safety. Detailed understanding of general industry standards and the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards. Includes knowledge of basic health and safety concepts such as hazard and risk assessment, personal protective equipment, behavior-based safety, machine/ equipment safety, confined space entry, etc MUST HAVES: ? Minimum bachelor?s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering ? 2 to 4 years of experience. ? Strong technical knowledge of automation and control systems ? Well-developed problem-solving skills. ? Extensive experience leading and participating in machinery safety and conducting machine safety **risk assessments** ? Solid understanding of functional safety of machinery. This refers to the selection, installation, and configuration of protective devices and related control systems used in machinery to protect people from injuries. ? Understand the hazards and risks associated with manufacturing equipment. ? Advanced knowledge and experience in the evaluation of safety related control systems. This would include an understanding of relevant machinery safety standards. o ISO 13849-1 o ISO 13849-2 o IEC 62061 o ISO 12100 ? Capability in performing safety system verification and validation. ? Basic understanding of the control of hazardous energy/Lock out ? tag out ? Basic project management skills. ? Ability to travel domestically ? Any holdings of machinery safety certifications are a plus |
