This role is accountable for producing high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. The individual in this position will work under close supervision to perform a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. They will carry out routine assignments following specified and standardized procedures. All work will be closely and continually reviewed. The person in this position will ensure that relevant job documentation for cell operations and functions is accurate and up-to-date. They must also be able to communicate ideas, problems, and solutions clearly in both written and oral form to all levels of manufacturing management. A positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers, such as tours, is essential. Safety guidelines must be followed, and appropriate safety devices should be utilized when performing all operations. Participation in continuous improvement/quality initiatives is required to enhance production processes to achieve quality and profitability metrics. Maintaining accurate records is necessary to ensure that traveler and quality documents are precise, all parts are traceable, and quality issues can be addressed to ensure the quality of all products. The individual in this position should have a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and participate with the Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager in setting and monitoring individual goals and cell performance metrics that continuously seek to improve the quality of operations. They will support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements. The ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures; understand and follow verbal instructions; utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages; prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance; handle and maneuver small components and parts; make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision is required. While a high school degree or equivalent is preferred, it is not required.
