Job Description:
As the Finance Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our client's accounting and financial reporting operations, ensuring adherence to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will serve as the primary liaison between the SAP financial project and the business, driving financial transformational change, and ensuring organizational readiness in a constantly evolving retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee accounting and reporting operations to ensure timely, accurate, and complete financial closings and management reporting.
Act as the primary interface between the SAP financial project and the business, facilitating ongoing leadership and delivery of financial transformational change initiatives.
Conduct variance analysis, review reported actuals and forecasts, and provide insightful commentary.
Provide solid support to country management on financial performance, liquidity, investment decisions, and financial planning.
Manage the relationship with external auditors and ensure an efficient and effective external audit process.
Collaborate closely with Legal and Tax teams to ensure compliance with legal and tax requirements.
Establish and maintain financial structures to track costs and performance, supporting decision-making processes in alignment with global frameworks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in financial data analysis and preparation of financial reports, statements, and projections.
Proven project management capabilities with experience in planning, initiating, monitoring, and implementing projects within a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial issues clearly to non-financial personnel.
Strong background in GAAP, internal controls, compliance (SOX, PCI, tax, etc.), treasury, and financial systems.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 7 years in a senior finance position.
Experience leading financial teams in retail or similar industries with sales of at least $500M.##
