Shift Details: 7:00AM - 3:30PM

DESCRIPTION:

Performs cleaning functions in various areas of the hospital. Maintains these areas in a clean and orderly fashion in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures and foremost to provide an environment conducive to patient recovery.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
Requires operation of mechanical equipment such as vacuums.
Visual acuity to detail cleanliness.
Reasoning ability as employees must use self-judgment in changing sequence of areas cleaned to meet needs of unit or area.
Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction.
Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.

Education & Qualifications:

Required: None
Preferred: High School or GED preferred

Working Conditions:

Work is performed inside with good ventilation and comfortable temperatures
This job classification has occasional exposure to electric shock, x-ray and electromagnetic energy
This job classification has routine exposure to radiation hazards, biohazardous materials, noxious odors, latex and musculoskeletal injuries

Physical Requirements:

Lifting and carrying 25 lbs. frequently, pushing or pulling greater than 100 lbs. occasionally; includes lifts, positions and transfers patients and supplies/equipment
Positional tasks may include frequent/prolonged walking, standing with occasional kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing and stooping
Eye-hand coordination, depth perception and manual dexterity sufficient to perform such task as the operation of biomedical equipment
Corrected hearing and vision to within functional ranges; must be able to see and read computer screens and biomedical equipment readouts with or without corrective devices
Must be able to communicate clearly with patients, families and co-workers

Occupational Exposure to Chemical and Pharmaceutical Wastes:
Waste Handler ? Satellite: The normal work routine involves exposure to chemical and/or pharmaceutical wastes. This position is responsible for the safe handling and movement of hazardous materials/hazardous wastes to a Satellite waste container within the department. Initial training is provided upon hire and refresher training is provided annually

Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens:
OSHA Category I: The normal work routine involves exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue or other potentially infectious materials. Position is required to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
